MCG Scoreboard
I was hired as a Flash developer at a Melbourne studio for 3 months to build the flash application which drives the MCG scoreboard. It is one of the most complex systems I have worked on so far. As part of a small team I coded most of the first build. The system was first used for the ANZAC day AFL game and has now been extended for Rugby and Cricket matches and is used at other world class sporting venues.

Flash application and component classes. XML reading and writing. The application runs across 3 machines using the MDM Zinc compiler to talk across network ports. The input application sends commands via a server application (which can be undone by the game scorer) and ends up going through to the output app which loads in game and player stats, photos and is rendered from Flash into a video signal which you see in the photos. Games themselves and their rules and scoring values amongst other things are defined in XML documents making this application extendable to other sports. Clever huh!
